Cubes FAQs

We answer your burning questions on Cubes.

Updated over a week ago

We've put together answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our money management tool, Cubes.

What are Cubes?

Think of Cubes as being sub-accounts, where you can put aside money, set budgeting targets and track your progress all with just a few clicks.

How do I create a Cube?

From the home page, either tap the Cubes banner, or, tap More then tap Cubes. From there, you then tap the + icon to create your first Cube, or create an additional Cube.

Is there a limit to how much I can save in a Cube?

There's no maximum amount that you can hold in a Cube.

Can I schedule a payment in/out of my Cubes?

This isn't available just yet, but this will be included in a future update and we'll be sure to let you know when it goes live.

Is the money in my Cubes protected?

Yes. A new digital money account is created for each cube, and all funds are safeguarded in the same way as your main account balance.

Do I get any interest on my savings?

No. We don't pay or charge any interest on any of our products. We are however developing investment cubes that will enable you to generate profits in the future. We’ll let you know when that’s live!

Can I use my own custom image on a Cube?

The ability to use custom images will be included in a future update. For the moment, please select from the images provided which you can change at any time.

Can I move money from one Cube to another?

You certainly can! Just tap "Add Money" in the Cube you wish to add to and you’ll then be asked where you want to add money from. Select either your main balance or any of your other Cubes.

Can I link a card to a Cube and pay directly from it?

Not at the moment, but that's something that we're working on for a future update and we'll be sure to let you know as soon as this feature is available.

Can I lock a Cube until a specific date?

Absolutely, here's how:

  1. Head into the Cubes section in the Algbra app

  2. Tap the Cube that you’d like to lock

  3. Tap the settings icon and then switch on “Cube locked”

  4. Choose a date that you’d like your Cube to automatically unlock

Whilst your Cube is locked, you won’t be able to make any withdrawals from it.

If you change your mind at any time, you can simply disable the lock from the Cube’s settings.

Is there a round up feature?

There isn't at the moment, but we're working on this for a future update and will be sure to let you know when it goes live.

Can I send money to someone else from my Cubes?

No, you’ll need to move money from your Cube back to your main account balance where you can then transfer it to any account.

Is there a limit on the number of Cubes I can have?

Yes, at the moment you can create a maximum of 10 Cubes but we may look to increase this in the future.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via the in-app chat.
